Inclusion & Advocacy
At the core of our Emergency Department is an unwavering commitment to equity, inclusion and social accountability.
Emergency medicine is often the first and only point of contact with the health care system for individuals who face profound barriers to care. We are especially committed to advancing the health and dignity of our patients and community, particularly those impacted by systemic racism, homelessness and substance use. Our work is grounded in the belief that compassionate, culturally safe, and structurally competent care is essential to delivering high-quality medicine.
