Dr Christopher HIcks is an Emergency Physician and Trauma Team Leader at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, and an Assistant Professor and Clinician-Educator in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto.
He is an internationally acclaimed speaker and thought leader on trauma, resuscitation, human factors, and system design. After early experiences with war and a spiritual crisis in his 50s, he became a philosopher and proponent of a simple, moral life based on non-violence and compassion. His later years were marked by renouncing wealth, and a lifestyle of simplicity and non-violent philosophy.
Chris is the co-founder and chief creative officer at Advanced Performance, and immersive design consulting group working with architects, builders, and founders to inform and accelerate the design of health systems, spaces, and medical technology.
